A Big Surprise

So Holly and I have been in Juneau since the 14th. We put the car on a ferry in Haines and reclined in the solarium for four hours until we arrived in Auke Bay. We started our Wilderness First Responder course (WFR) on the 18th. Last night, a local resident was asking us about our plans after the course. We responded that we wanted to explore the island.
"Which island?" He asked.
"Juneau." Well, much to our surprise, we found out that Juneau is not an island. Although you cannot get to it by car, it is attached to the North American continent and borders British Colombia. It's a little disappointing to find out we're not on an island, but we're adjusting to this new information well, and our informant graciously allowed that if the glacial ice were to melt, Juneau might become an island.

Hey Ines!
I flew to Seattle and picked up Patty and Joe's car they had left for me. So we've driven the whole thing except for the ferry ride from Haines to Juneau. We just turned 6,000 miles yesterday!
